Cambridge & The Imperial War Museum

For those who wish to experience culture, Cambridge is indeed an amazing place to visit. Combined with a trip to the Imperial War Museum this trip is sure to get the history buffs buzzing.

Sunday

We travel South to Cambridge with a comfort stop in Kings Lynn, The Hanseatic town of King's Lynn was one of England's most important ports from as early as the 12th century and this maritime past is still very much in evidence today. Fine old merchants' houses stretch down to the river between cobbled lanes and the elegant Custom House overlooks the harbour. The town's heritage is reflected in an amazing array of historic buildings and at two magnificent market places: Saturday Market Place, where St Margaret's Church , designated as a Minster Church in 2011 by the Bishop of Norwich, is surrounded by splendid buildings and Tuesday Market Place, quite possibly one of England's grandest squares. You will arrive at your hotel in time to relax before your evening meal.

Monday

Today we have set aside for you to enjoy the beautiful city of Cambridge, Cambridge is famous for its university, currently one of the best in the world, and its scientists. It is the town where: the atom was first split, where the structure of DNA was discovered, where Charles Darwin developed the theory of evolution, where Newton developed his theory of gravity, where the order of human DNA was first discovered, where the electron and neutron were discovered, where Stephen Hawking of black-hole fame used to live and work. It has been home to some of the great thinkers of the last 500 years. With museums and galleries and a wealth of independent and big retail stores, Cambridge has something for everyone.
