Enjoy a morning departure from Lincolnshire for your journey to St Agnes, your base for the tour. There will be time to unwind and relax before this evenings meal.
Following breakfast make your way to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Rediscovered and restored in 1990 after 75 years of neglect, and now has over 200 acres that feature a working Victorian garden, subtropical jungle and a magnificent complex walled garden. This afternoon visit Mevagissey an attractive old town which was once the centre of Cornwall’s pilchard fishery and which still boasts a working harbour, with a few dozen small fishing boats. It has a tradition of boat building dating back to 1745. Many of the old buildings, constructed of cob and slate, bear testimony to a time when the large shoals of pilchards were the livelihood of the whole village.
Today enjoy a day at leisure in Newquay, known for sandy Fistral and Watergate Bay beaches, where waves from the Atlantic Ocean create strong surf. On the seafront, the Blue Reef Aquarium features an underwater tunnel going through a coral-reef tank with pufferfish, sharks and rays. Further inland, surrounded by tropical gardens, Newquay Zoo is home to lions, wildebeest and sloths.
Take a scenic tour to Lands end, at the most south - westerly point of mainland Britain. Later a trip to St Ives is on the cards, the oasis of public gardens provide the ideal location to sit back and unwind. Art lovers can meander the flagship Tate gallery.
Following breakfast bid farewell to your hosts for your journey back to Lincolnshire.
