Great Little Trains of Wales

Great Little Trains of Wales

Coach holiday to Wales

The beautiful town of Criccieth is situated on the Llyn Peninsula in North West Wales and is known as "The Pearl Of Wales On The Shores Of Snowdonia". This is a rather apt description of the town that has vistas to rival those found anywhere in the world.

Monday

Depart Lincolnshire and make your way to your base for the tour, Criccieth. Arrive in time to take in your new surroundings before the evening meal.

Tuesday

Feeling refreshed, today you will marvel at the wonderful scenery on a memorable nostalgic rail trip on the famous Ffestiniog Railway, which offers a magical combination of spectacular landscape and historic railway. Explore the unique village of Portmeirion this afternoon, where the cult 1960's tv series "The Prisoner" was filmed.

Wednesday

Today visit Conwy a classic walled town, where you can visit the picturesque quayside overlooking the harbour and look out for the fascinating smallest house. This afternoon will be spent at leisure in Llandudno. The beautiful award-winning beaches are best viewed by a gentle stroll along the seafront or on the longest pier in Wales. Visitors may choose to take a short boat trip and if lucky catch a glimpse of seals, porpoises or dolphins off the coast.

Thursday

Travel north to the medieval walled town of Caernarfon, with time to explore its mighty 13th century castle, before boarding a train for a single journey on the Welsh Highland railway, through the
spectacular Snowdonia National Park to the historic harbour town of Porthmadog, which has no less than three narrow gauge railway stations.

Friday

Bid farewell to your hosts for your journey back to Lincolnshire. A stop will be taken in Chester enroute.

Lion Hotel:
