Today we travel from our hotel to Torquay, You can't get much more of a 'traditional British seaside' resort than the vibrant and cheerful town of Torquay. Set at the very heart of the English Riviera on the South Devon Coast, Torquay is famous for its sandy beaches, family attractions and genteel Victorian appearance. Made famous by the legendary comedy series Fawlty Towers, Torquay is distinctly Mediterranean and is a family favourite with plenty of attractions and things to do.
We have set today aside for you to enjoy your resort, Loved for its long sandy beaches, Paignton is a colourful, traditional seaside resort popular for its mild climate and lively seafront. The bustling pier, genteel buildings and streets and sense of class and style make this an English Riviera favourite for generations of visitors.
After breakfast we travel to the House of Marbles, You can tour the site's historic trail with museums of glass, games, marbles, and Bovey Pottery as well as our listed kilns. Many of our visitors find they can while away an afternoon or two just browsing our gift shop, glassworks and taking refreshments in our licensed restaurant. Then this afternoon on to Buckfast Abbey, Benedictine spirituality at Buckfast Abbey is firmly rooted. It is not swept together from all sorts of spiritual traditions; it offers a measured approach, it does not make haste; it contains nothing mysterious or esoteric; it does not focus on the spiritual quest of any individual, but on the growth of the person living in a community - whether religious or secular.
