Harrogate & The Yorkshire Dales

Harrogate & The Yorkshire Dales

Coach holiday to Harrogate

With a Cathedral City, a Spa town, historic market towns, a World Heritage Site and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty all within a few short miles of each other, the Harrogate district provides the perfect base for a varied holiday. Whether you love the great outdoors or prefer shopping and good food, whether your passion is for gardens, history, art, culture or theatre, Harrogate has it all and more besides.

Monday

Travel to Harrogate, your base for the next 4 nights. A stop will be made in York before continuing onto your hotel, the Cairn.

Tuesday

This morning make the short journey to RHS Harlow Carr a garden with a wide variety of growing landscapes ranging from woodland to wildflower meadows. RHS Garden Harlow Carr in Yorkshire covers 27.5 hectares (68 acres). Set in a valley and very much a part of the Yorkshire countryside, the garden has a wide variety of growing landscapes, from running and still water to woodland and wild flower meadows. Acidic soil affords a fabulous environment for rhododendrons and Himalayan blue poppies, whilst visitors can be inspired if they have to contend with similar weather conditions - cold, drying winter winds, deep frosts, a cooler, shorter growing season and lots of wet weather. This afternoon will be spent at leisure in Harrogate.

Wednesday

Enjoy a circular tour around the Yorkshire Dales scenery, with a photo opportunity at the famous Ribblehead Viaduct on your way to the lovely town of Hawes, which is also home to the Wensleydale Creamery, made famous by Wallace and Gromit. Continue to Leyburn for an authentic heritage railway trip with the Wensleydale Railway to Leeming Bar, before returning back to your hotel.

Thursday

A day touring your local area has been arranged today with your driver. Take in local towns of interest before heading back to your hotel ready for your last evening in Harrogate.

Friday

Bid farewell to your hosts for your journey back to Lincolnshire but not before enjoying time at leisure in Leeds. From stylish shopping and decadent dining, to contemporary arts and a vibrant nightlife, Leeds is abundant with things to do.
