Isle of Man

Isle of Man

Coach holiday to Isle of Man

A hidden treasure in the Irish Sea with our centrally situated hotel provides a great base for our steam and cream tour. Boasting the world's oldest continuous parliament, the Isle of Man has a rich historical landscape to explore. Attractions include Peel Castle, a Viking longship and world's largest working waterwheel - the 150-year-old Laxey Wheel.

Tuesday

Depart Lincolnshire and make your way to Heysham where you board the ferry to Douglas. A short ride from the ferry port will take you to your destination for the next 4 nights.

Wednesday

Make a trip back in time aboard the Isle of Man steam railway, as it winds its way through delightful countryside to the coast at Port Erin. Train enthusiasts might like to visit the town's railway museum before heading down to the sound with its colonies of seals and seabirds and its excellent café and visitor centre, making a great spot for lunch with spectacular views of the Calf of Man.

Thursday

Today enjoy a free day in Douglas to explore the capital. Buy a local travel pass to take a nostalgic journey along the Douglas promenade on the world's oldest horse drawn tramway. Why not visit the Manx museum and National Art gallery or take a pleasure cruise around the harbour.

Friday

Following breakfast board the coach for your journey to Milntown House. There are 15 acres of gardens and woodlands in this historical setting for you to explore. Throughout the gardens there are many excellent specimens of rhododendrons, magnolias, camellias and many other species too, all of which produce a dazzling display of blooms from early spring right through to summer. In summer and autumn the herbaceous borders will be awash with bright and bold colours, whilst the woodland walks will offer a cool, green and shady contrast. Enjoy the calmness of the mill pond, sheltered by mature trees and shrubs, and home to their pet ducks. Enjoy a scenic tour back to your hotel.

Saturday

Following breakfast, leave the hotel and make your way back to Heysham on the mainland before continuing your journey home.
