Make your way to Poole with comfort stops to be taken enroute. Your driver has pre arranged a visit to a town of interest to break up your journey.
Today visit the Isle of Purbeck, including the market town of Wareham, once a stronghold for King Alfred the Great and onto the Victorian seaside resort of Swanage, which marks the Eastern end of the Jurassic coast. Sit back and relax for a journey on the Swanage railway with stunning views of the ruins of Corfe Castle enroute.
This morning a visit to Monkey World has been included. This internationally-acclaimed 65 acre ape rescue centre, as featured in the television programme Monkey Business, is home to over 150 primates of 15 different species. It currently houses the largest group of chimpanzees outside Africa and has rescued chimps from abuse and cruelty in many countries, rehabilitating them into large social groups. In addition to chimpanzees, Monkey World is also home to Orangutans, Gibbons, Ring-Tailed Lemurs, stump-tailed macaques and several types of monkey. Free time in Weymouth this afternoon has been included.
This morning enjoy a scenic journey to Lulworth Cove. Enjoy a leisurely walk along the national heritage coastline whilst enjoying the breath taking scenery. Lulworth Cove was formed approximately 10,000 years ago by the awesome powers of a river and the sea. It continues to evolve behind a narrow Portland stone entrance as the softer Purbeck, Wealdon, Greensand and Chalk exposures are eroded. This afternoon has been set aside to enjoy some free time in Poole. With its bustling quay and attractions such as Poole Pottery, the quayside emporium and local markets to name a few, there is plenty to see and do on your last day.
Return back to Lincolnshire via Windsor. Have free time to explore before completing your journey home.
