Llandrindod Wells

Coach Holiday to Llandrindod Wells, Wales

Situated right in the heart of Wales is the town of Llandrindod Wells, where you are sure to receive a very warm welcome all the year round. This innovative tour is based at the 4 star Metropole hotel, with the Brecon Beacons on your doorstep and a visit to Abbey-Cwn-Hir Hall a favourite and always mentioned as a highlight of our passengers tour, stunning scenery and interesting excursions at this ever famous hotel will provide the perfect setting for your holiday in Wales.

We travel west to Llandrindod Wells with a comfort stop in Royal Leamington Spa, Wide boulevards, Georgian and Edwardian architecture and award-winning parks provide a stunning backdrop to this shopping paradise. Often described as 'the best bits of London, all in a ten-minute walk', Leamington town centre combines a treasure-trove of independent, specialist boutiques with all the national chains you would expect to find in a large city. You will arrive at your hotel with plenty of time to relax before your evening meal.

Today we travel from our hotel to Abbey-Cwm-Hir Hall, a favourite with our passengers on previous tours, The gardens and grounds have been restored for visitors to enjoy. Many Victorian features remain, or have been uncovered, through the restoration. Such features include a 1.5 acre walled garden, lawns and terraces, 4 courtyards, a lake and waterfall and some splendid mixed woodland. The grounds overlook the abbey, and give wonderful views along "The Long Valley". You will be given a guided tour of the house by the family or close personal friend of the family. The rest of the day is to enjoy at your own leisure in Llandrindod Wells.

This morning we travel through the picturesque Brecon Beacons, with a stop in Hay-on-Wye, In the 1960s, a young man, Richard Booth, bought Hay castle and declared the town an independent state with him as king. With his cardboard crown, and a sceptre made from a ballcock, he set out to put the town on the map. Improbably, he succeeded. He made it world famous as 'the town of books'. In Brecon Narrow compact streets, Georgian facades and the restored canal basin tell tales of times gone by. For culture, seek out the 12th century cathedral, South Wales Borderers Military Museum, and Brecknock Museum and Art Gallery.

After breakfast we travel up the road to Ludlow, The steady pace of life here means you'll always be greeted with a smile and conversation in our busy high street where you will find many small independent shops and regular markets in Castle Square. As well as opportunities to take in beautiful walks around the castle and along the river Teme, surrounded by historic buildings and with breathtaking views of the Shropshire Hills beyond, there's so much to do and enjoy in Ludlow.

We depart the hotel for our return journey to Lincolnshire, with a comfort stop enroute.
