Held only every 10 years in Almere The Floriade park will be a celebration of green and sustainable technology. New technologies for greenery, food, energy and health will be researched and implemented at this living laboratory. Visitors will be touched by what they see, smell and taste. The park consists of permanent elements and expo-specific ones. All contribute to Floriades four sub-themes: Greening the City, Feeding the City, Healthying the City and Energising the City. Inspiring gardens, conferences, workshops and exhibitions will be mixed with impressive attractions, surprising tasting sessions, art and culture. The site will be full of energy and action. Naturally, all in wonderful, green surroundings.

Thursday 8th Sept
We depart at a leisurely time in the afternoon to meet the ferry which is due to depart at 8.30pm.
On board you will be entertained by the ships talented crew or of course you can partake in a bit of gambling in the onboard casaino. Dinner is included in the buffet restaurant which has food from all over the world, please remember Holland is 1 hour after us on the clocks so ensure you get a good night's sleep.
Friday 9th Sept
We arrive in Rotterdam nice and early, your breakfast is served in the buffet restaurant. We will then spend the day in Rotterdam. Rotterdam is a city of many faces: a tough port city, a trendy nightlife city, a sophisticated shopping city, and a hip artistic city. Above all, Rotterdam is the architecture city of Holland that stimulates innovation. Its skyline is always changing. There are many things to do amid Rotterdam's skyscrapers. You can go on a shopping spree, enjoy some excellent food, and visit a range of museums and attractions in and around the city centre. We will depart at 4pm for your hotel in Utrecht, this will allow plenty of time to settle in and really enjoy the amazing scenery before your evening meal.
Saturday 10th Sept
The main attraction. Floriade 2022 expo. The Horticultural highlight for any gardener. Only held once every 10 years the expo is full of innovation. There are bridges made from growing timbers, a cable car ride (included) which will take you over the site and show you the whole expo and In section 31 of the arboretum, which is part of the letter 'A' the planting of Alliums has already started. Allium is the botanical name of the spring bulb better known as the ornamental onion. They are the first in a series of 14.000 bulbs to be planted which will continue to flower after Floriade Expo 2022. Towards the International Horticultural Exposition all plants will be planted from A to Z according to their botanical name in the 191 sections of the arboretum. We depart at 5pm to return to your hotel for your evening meal, tired and full of new ideas for your gardens at home. Your garden will definitely stand out of the crowd on your street.
Sunday 11th Sept
After breakfast, Say goodbye to our Dutch hosts and travel into Amsterdam for a day at leisure. Amsterdam is an amazing City, Museums and art, shopping and stunning architecture (don't forget to look up) all combined in one amazing place. Check out the real gold motifs on the front of the train station or maybe take a boat ride on the waterways where your skipper will give an informative description of the highlights of Amsterdam. Did you know the houses are so tall it is impossible to get furniture to the top floors? There is a hook on the top of every building which takes a hoist. Furniture is hoisted up through the windows, sometimes you can see them doing this which is a feat for the people delivering, they definitely don't mind heights. We will depart at 6pm for the ferry terminal for a 9pm sailing. This time you get an extra hour on board to relax and enjoy your evening meal. After a breakfast on board, the ship will arrive in Hull early morning for your return to Lincolnshire.
Monday 12th Sept
After a relaxing evening on board and a hearthy breakfast we disembark the ferry for the return to Lincolnshire. we should arrive back for lunchtime at the latest.
