Grange over Sands

Grange is a pretty resort with an Edwardian flavour and a mild climate. It is on the shores of Morecambe Bay, and from the 13th Century until the 1850's, the major route from Lancaster was across the sands. In 1887, the coming of the Furness Railway encouraged the growth of Grange from a small hamlet to the town we see today. Wealthy industrialists from Lancashire and Yorkshire were quick to build large houses here.

Monday 21st Nov

Travel to The West coast with comfort stops on the way. When you arrive at the hotel the festivities begin with a glass of bubbly or sherry whilst your cases are being taken to your room. This evening there will be entertainment for you to enjoy.

Tuesday 22nd Nov

After a full English breakfast please make sure you pick up your Jumbo quiz forms before boarding the coach for a trip into Lancaster. The Festive mood is infectious as you walk around the cobbled streets. Each store is brightly lit and will beckon you inside with a promise of shopping heaven. This evening back at the hotel, another evening of live entertainment.

Wednesday 23rd Nov

Today a visit to Kendal. Your driver will take you on a scenic drive around the Lake District which will include a trip round Windermere. Windermere lake, at 10.5 miles long, one mile wide and 220 feet deep, is the largest natural lake in both the Lake District and in England, and is fed by numerous rivers. Strictly speaking, Windermere lake is just called Winder"mere", with "mere" meaning a lake that is broad in relation to its depth and of course its stunningly beautiful. It's market day in Kendal. From weekly banter to the best of local produce, the markets is full of character. With a market charter dating from 1189. Come and join the hustle and bustle, it's a great way to experience the town's friendly vibe. This evening a full Christmas dinner will be served with all the relevant trimmings followed by live festive entertainment to get you up and dancing.

Thursday 24th Nov

After you have handed in your completed quiz forms, depart the hotel for a scenic drive to Hayes Garden World, More than just a garden centre, more like a small town, Hayes Garden World attracts in excess of a million visitors a year, with exciting new ideas and imaginative displays to enthuse the keenest gardener and shopping enthusiast alike. When you arrive back at the hotel another night of excellent 'Bring in the New Year' entertainment awaits.

Friday 25th Nov

Sadly we have to say good bye to Grange over Sands and return to Lincolnshire. Your driver will arrange comfort stops on the way.
