With stunning ponds and the Pin Mill to finish, they are the perfect blend of natural and man-made art. Explore where the formal gives way to the towering trees, paths and streams of The Dell. Here you can stand over the waterfall then follow the River Hiraethlyn on its magical journey through the valley filled with hostas and hydrangeas.

Tuesday 13th

Today we visit Portmerrion, In 1925, Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis acquired the site which was to become Portmerrion. He had been searching for a suitable site for his proposed ideal village for several years and when he heard that the Aber Iâ estate near Penrhyndeudraeth was for sale, he did not hesitate to make an offer. He wanted to show how a naturally beautiful location could be developed without spoiling it, and that one could actually enhance the natural background through sympathetic development. The Aber Iâ estate had everything he had hoped for as a site for his architectural experiment: steep cliffs overlooking a wide sandy estuary, woods, streams and a nucleus of old buildings.

Wednesday 14th

Today has been put aside for you to enjoy Llandudno, Blue Flag beaches (including the excellent Colwyn Bay beach and Llandudno beach), the great orme, the Llandudno pier, the Llandudno cable cars, excellent theatres, a fascinating conservation zoo, top-draw golf courses, mighty big mountains and green valleys, some amazing restaurants, pubs and a complete A to Z of outdoor activities await you in this scenic coastal town.
