Monday 20th June

We depart Lincolnshire to meet the ferry at Heysham with comfort stops on the way, your driver will ensure you arrive at the hotel with plenty of time to relax before your evening meal.

Tuesday 21st June

After breakfast we travel to the Great Laxey Wheel, This feat of Victorian engineering and ingenuity is the largest surviving waterwheel of its kind in the world. The Lady Isabella as she is also known, served the mine for 70 years and became the Island's most dramatic tourist attraction. Watch the mighty wheel turn and climb to the top for panoramic views across Glen Mooar Valley. Beyond the wheel take an hour to explore the mine and the trail to the mine ruins to learn more about the lives of the Laxey miners. This afternoon we travel down the road into Douglas, The coach will drop you at the Manx Museum. The Manx Museum (Thie Tashtee Vannin) is bursting with artefacts and treasures unique to the Isle of Man. The Island's 10,000 year history is presented through film, galleries and interactive displays. The perfect starting point on your journey of discovery around the Island and its Viking and Celtic past.

Wednesday 22nd June

This morning we have left free for you to enjoy Douglas, The Isle of Man's capital is a unique blend of a traditional seaside resort, thriving finance centre and busy working harbour. This afternoon we visit Milntown Gardens for cream tea, There are 15 acres of gardens and woodlands in this historical setting for you to explore. Throughout the gardens there are many excellent specimens of rhododendrons, magnolias, camellias and many other species too, all of which produce a dazzling display of blooms. Enjoy the calmness of the mill pond, sheltered by mature trees and shrubs, and home to pet ducks.

Thursday 23rd June

Today we meet the Steam train at Douglas for our one hour journey to Port Erin along the heritage Railway. The Steam Railway is a truly unique railway, it's something everyone should experience, allowing you to travel around the south with ease. The railway has been granted a new lease of life and is enjoying all the benefits of the largest reinvestment in renewal, improvement and maintenance since it was built. Like the landscape the steam trains have preserved their identity in an ever changing world. Port Erin owes much of its existence to the Victorian tourists, who came for the beautiful sandy beach set in an enclosed harbour, local cafe's and simple gardens. Today Port Erin still enjoys the tourist trade, as well as local trade. Its beaches and town centre still hold much of the appeal they ever did. Your driver will allow free time in Port Erin before returning to the hotel.

Friday 24th June

Sadly you have to say goodbye your hosts and travel to meet the ferry for your journey back to Lincolnshire. Your driver will ensure comfort stops are taken on the way and we should arrive back around early evening.
