Tuesday
Glastonbury is our destination today. Possibly the quirkiest town in England, Glastonbury is entwined in the legend of King Arthur and steeped in medieval history. Take a leap into the world of crystal shops and dragon dens. Better known, every day retailers would actually look out of place amongst the scene of myth and legend. Maybe visit Glastonbury Abbey which in only beaten in size by its sibling in Westminster and take a relaxing stroll amongst a formidable setting.
Wednesday
Spend the morning at your leisure in Street. Just a few minutes walk from your hotel is Clarks Village which offers a perfect excuse to grab a bargain at the discount designer and high street stores. This afternoon you can join your driver for a scenic tour of the Mendip Hills.
Thursday
After a leisurely breakfast, join your driver for a day in Wells. Enjoy some time at your leisure in this cathedral city which is full of rich heritage and tradition. Maybe visit one of the many tea rooms or peruse the independent shops for some mementos of your travels. This afternoon we visit Wells Cathedral, which has unique features that separate it from other English cathedrals including its iconic West Front and the beautiful 'scissor arches' supporting the central tower, as well as one of the largest collections of historic stained glass in the country. Upon arrival you can enjoy a cream tea before your guided visit, which is concluded by a choral Evensong service.
Friday
Sadly we say goodbye to Somerset for our return home to Lincolnshire. Your driver will ensure comfort stops on the way.
